About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and resilient Residential Support Workers to join our residential children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a rewarding but challenging role where you will play a key part in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people who may have experienced trauma and adversity.
As a bank worker, you will provide flexible cover across shifts, helping to maintain consistency of care and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and emotional support to young people
- Build positive, trusting relationships and act as a strong role model
- Support young people to manage behaviours that challenge in a calm and consistent manner
- Promote education, independence, and life skills development
- Contribute to care planning and risk management strategies
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports
- Work as part of a team to create a safe and supportive home environment
What We’re Looking For
- A resilient, patient, and empathetic individual
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging behaviour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
- Previous experience working with children or young people (especially EBD) is desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
