GSL Education is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a highly specialist and outstanding SEN school in Islington supporting pupils aged 2–19 with complex physical, sensory, medical and learning needs. The school is renowned for its inclusive environment, specialist provision and multidisciplinary approach to supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning needs.
This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant who has previously supported children or adults with PMLD, complex needs, physical disabilities or medical needs.
- Supporting pupils with PMLD, severe learning difficulties and complex physical needs

Providing personal care, including toileting, changing and feeding support

Assisting with mobility and physical interventions where required

Supporting pupils who use wheelchairs, AAC devices and alternative communication methods

Working closely with teachers, therapists, nurses and other specialist staff

Promoting pupil independence, communication and engagement in learning

Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

- Experience with manual handling and hoist transfers

Knowledge of AAC, PECS, Makaton or PODD communication systems

Team Teach or positive behaviour support training
