We are looking for a reliable and practical Handyperson to join our team supporting Healthcare and Education facilities across Dorset. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone with general building maintenance experience who takes pride in delivering high standards of work and customer service.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks across multiple sites, ensuring buildings remain safe, functional and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out minor reactive fabric repairs within agreed timeframes
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
- Undertake low-level plumbing and general building repairs
- Perform monthly Legionella checks
- Conduct daily building inspections internally and externally
- Report faults and health & safety concerns promptly
- Assist with general grounds maintenance including litter picking and gritting walkways
- Support cleaning duties and respond quickly to spillages
- Remove graffiti where required
- Coordinate subcontractor visits and ensure site standards are maintained
- Maintain accurate records and complete required administration
Requirements:
- Experience in joinery, plumbing, general building or fabric maintenance
- Full UK Driving Licence essential
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to travel and shift work
