Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Storeman to join our team in Aintree, Liverpool. We supply and install domestic lifts/hoists and adaptations therefore, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse stock, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth operation of storage and distribution processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and preferably (desirable but not essential) mechanical knowledge of domestic lifts (stairlifts, through floor lifts and step lifts).
The position is full time and on a permanent basis.
Duties
- Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Manage stock levels using company systems
- Handle materials, including the unloading and receiving of lifts, parts and materials.
- Organise stock storage areas, ensuring items are correctly labelled and stored according to safety standards
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle audits to maintain accurate stock records
- Support with mechanical maintenance as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all warehouse activities
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and improve workflow efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management or similar roles, with a strong understanding of stock control procedures
- Valid forklift licence and experience operating forklift trucks safely
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with domestic lifts is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during material handling tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock organisation and record keeping
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks over extended periods
