About the Role
We are recruiting for a Therapeutic Children’s Support Worker to join our growing residential care team in Burton-on-Trent. With two Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ homes and a third home opening soon, this is an exciting opportunity to become part of a therapeutic organisation focused on creating positive outcomes for children and young people.
In this role, you will support young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches, including PACE. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can build confidence, resilience, and healthier futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high-quality care and support within a therapeutic residential setting
- Support young people’s emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
- Encourage positive routines, independence, and resilience
- Build trusting and supportive relationships with young people
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and daily documentation
- Promote safeguarding and maintain a safe, structured home environment
Requirements
- Previous experience within residential childcare preferred
- Understanding of therapeutic or trauma-informed practice desirable
- Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible to work a rolling rota, including evenings and weekends
- Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for children and young people
