The child is currently attending the provision for approximately 2 hours per day, with the plan for this to gradually increase. During the remaining time, you will support within the primary SEMH class, working alongside other pupils and staff. You will also have dedicated time to create resources, plan strategies, and prepare personalised support materials to help your 1:1 pupil progress.

We are looking for someone who is passionate, patient, and understands the importance of building strong relationships with children with additional needs.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEND

Experience supporting a non-verbal child (essential)
Understanding of communication difficulties and strategies to support them

The ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive when a child is dysregulated
A flexible and creative approach to supporting learning and development
A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to have a meaningful impact on a young child’s development. You will have the chance to work closely with one child, understand their individual needs, develop tailored strategies, and see the progress you help create.
You will be joining a supportive alternative provision team where your ideas, creativity, and expertise will be valued.
