Goodies Farm Shop is seeking a passionate, skilled, and dependable Sous Chef to join our growing kitchen team. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who values fresh, locally sourced ingredients and enjoys working in a fast paced Restaurant.
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality, seasonal dishes that reflect the character and standards of our farm shop. You will play a key role in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of hygiene, consistency, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in designing and preparing seasonal menus featuring fresh farm shop produce
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and quality
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organisation
- Assist with stock control, rotation, and ordering of ingredients and supplies
- Train, guide, and motivate junior kitchen staff
- Ensure dishes meet Goodies Farm Shop’s standards for taste, freshness, and appearance
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Contribute ideas for specials, new products, and menu improvements
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a busy kitchen
- Strong knowledge of fresh food preparation and cooking techniques
- Experience working with locally sourced or seasonal ingredients (preferred)
- Confident leadership and team supervision skills
- Excellent understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Passion for quality food and farm-to-table dining
- Weekend availability essential
