Age UK Thanet are looking for a Support Worker to join us in working in our pioneering holistic service called ‘Ask CAL’ (Colourful Amazing Lives) At present, Ask CAL’s services include activities and companionship in the home, hot meal delivery, help with household tasks, shopping, welfare checks, telephone befriending, information and advice, exercises in the garden or home, and art packs for well-being.
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will Support with activities, household tasks, shopping, going for walks to name a few! You will be wearing PPE to deliver all services and will be following risk assessments and organisational Policies and Procedures at all times.
We are looking for an individuals that are enthusiastic, empathetic and can work on their own initiative.
Applicants must be aware they may be asked to drive a work van to drop clients off at a doctors/dentist/hospital appointment and please also be aware that although this job role is to deliver a wide range of services such as hot meal delivery, we are client led and at this present time there are a lot of requests in to do household tasks.
Person Specification:
- Working to the needs of the company, supporting any area needing cover on demand.
- A full clean driving licence is essential for this position. (Full training will be given to drive our vans and own use of a car is essential for this role. )
- Able to provide a friendly person-centred approach to enhance the health and wellbeing of those we support and facilitate meaningful and engaging activities.
- A Health and Social Care background or NVQ Level 2 would be desirable.
