Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. We are a flexible employer but you will be expected to correspond with the director in normal working hours.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in all records
- Process accounts payable and maintain vendor relationships
- Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
- Liaise with external auditors during audits
- Maintain organised financial filing systems for easy retrieval of documents
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
