The Quality Assurance & Enhancement Unit supports the delivery of a high-quality educational experience through effective quality processes, continuous improvement, and meaningful partnership with students. We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician with an interest in medical education to join our team and contribute to enhancing the student experience across the MBBS programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who has completed Foundation Training and is interested in developing a career in medical education. Working within the Quality Assurance & Enhancement Unit, you will contribute to initiatives that enhance the undergraduate student experience, support quality assurance and curriculum development activities, and work in partnership with students and staff to drive improvement. The role also offers opportunities to develop teaching, educational scholarship and research experience within a supportive academic environment.
Appointment Details
- The post is available on a full-time basis at 1 FTE/36.5 hours and is graded on Grade 7.
- Salary for Grade 7 ranges from £43,981 to £52,586 per annum including London allowance.
- Applicants who work medically at a SAS grade under a separate contract with an NHS Trust or public health body will be placed on UCL’s clinical pay scales as per the CL7 grade. They will be expected to join their clinical and this teaching roles under a single contract, as per the Follett Principles.
- You will be placed on CL7 if jointly combined with a medical role or G7 if standalone teaching position.
- The appointment is a fixed term contract, available asap and is funded for 12 months.
- Due to the requirements of this role, we are unable to offer working hours below 0.4 FTE.
- This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 40% on site.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
You will be a fully GMC-registered clinician with experience and enthusiasm for teaching and medical education. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy working collaboratively with students and colleagues, and be committed to improving the educational experience through evidence-informed practice. An interest in educational evaluation, scholarship and continuous professional development will help you thrive in this role.
