Job Title: English Language & Literature Teacher
Star English Ltd was incorporated in the UK in 2021, we are dedicated to reading literary works for thounds of children worldwide. It is our determination to inculcate the good reading habits for global teenagers in developing countries by providing online lessons with a ration up to1:2.
Currently our students are from China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and USA, most of them are studying at international schools.
We are providing two types of courses:
1. Analytical Reading, Descriptive and Narrative writing
Students are required to read chapter books and literature texts before each lesson. During the lessons, teachers will help them understand the plot, characters, figurative Language etc. To incorporate close reading or analysis on extracts is very important, for example, how the author creates suspense and urgency.
In-class writing needs to be arranged to help the students write in details and with a high level of accuracy.
As a result, teacher will help the students do close reading, guide students how to write in an interactive way. This lesson is to help students to be ready for English Literature.
2. English Literature
Students are required to read the literature texts before each online lesson. Teachers will help students study texts from an analytical perspective, appreciation of writer’s craft, extract analysis and close reading, thematic study and character analysis, development of critical thinking skills and literary essays.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with our courses which is to follow GCSE requirements
- Teach English language skills including close reading, writing
- Assess students' English level before enrolment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback after each lesson
- Assign writing homework after each lesson and mark it before the next lesson
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in English Literature is a MUST
- Teaching at secondary schools for at least five years is a MUST
- PGCE certificate is a MUST
- Diligent to do lesson plans, submit lesson summary and mark homework
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching
