Overview
We are seeking a professional Class 2 HGV Driver/ Labourer to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating Hiab lorries to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking to utilise their commercial driving skills in a dynamic environment. Applicants must hold a valid Class 2 HGV licence and have prior experience in commercial driving.
Duties
- Safely operate a Hiab lorry to transport goods to various locations within the region.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Secure loads correctly on the flatbed, ensuring safety during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during driving operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Skills
- Valid Class 2 HGV licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with Hiab vehicles or delivery roles.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load transportation.
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles confidently in various traffic conditions.
- Good organisational skills to manage schedules and paperwork efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism on the road.
- Physical fitness for handling loading/unloading tasks when required. This role is ideal for experienced drivers committed to maintaining high safety standards whilst delivering exceptional service across their routes.
- Must have full CPC entitlement.
Pay: £16.50 per hour
