Personal Assistant / Support Worker
Northwich | Flexible Hours | £13- £13.50 per hour
I am looking to recruit a reliable and proactive Personal Assistant to join a small support team assisting a wheelchair user and parent with day-to-day independent living.
This is a varied role that combines practical support, community access, organisation, and occasional personal care. The successful applicant will help me maintain an active family life, attend appointments, manage daily tasks, and remain independent within my home and local community.
As part of the role, you will also be working within a family environment and supporting activities involving my 8-year-old son. This does not replace parenting responsibilities, but applicants should be comfortable engaging with children, supporting family outings, helping with routines, and working as part of a busy family household.
Duties may include:
- Supporting attendance at appointments and meetings• Driving and community access support• Assistance with household tasks and organisation• Meal preparation and shopping• Medication prompting and wellbeing monitoring• Personal care and continence support when required• Administrative support including emails, paperwork and scheduling• Supporting family activities and outings• Assisting with routines and activities involving my son• Accompanying me to occasional events and activities
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle• Reliable, organised and able to work independently• Good communication skills• Comfortable working as part of a small team• Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality• Comfortable working in a family home with children
Desirable
- Experience in care, support work, education, health, social care, youth work, childcare, or similar roles• Experience supporting disabled adults• First aid training• Moving and handling training
The ideal applicant will be practical, dependable, calm under pressure, and able to use their initiative. Reliability, common sense, and a positive attitude are more important than formal qualifications.
Enhanced DBS checks and references will be required.
