Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function across financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance and process improvement activities.
About you
-
Qualified Accounts Technician (ATI, AAT or equivalent) or Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA

At least 3 years' experience in a similar finance role

Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
-
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
-
Commercially aware with a proactive approach to improving processes
Nice to Have Skills

Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment

Experience preparing VAT, Intrastat or other statutory returns
-
Exposure to month-end and year-end accounting processes

Experience supporting audits and compliance requirements

Preferred Education and Experience
-
Qualified Accounts Technician or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification

Strong working knowledge of financial controls and accounting principles
What you'll do
-
Support sales ledger, purchase ledger, banking and general finance activities across the business
-
Perform bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding queries
-
Review general ledger postings and assist with maintaining accurate financial records
-
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets, stock, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances

Calculate and post journals including depreciation, amortisation and accruals
-
Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes
-
Support the preparation of VAT, Intrastat and other statutory returns
-
Assist with external audit requirements and preparation of supporting documentation
-
Contribute to KPI reporting and analysis to support finance team performance
-
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support finance transformation initiatives
-
Provide support to the Financial Controller and wider finance leadership team on ad hoc projects and reporting requirements
