Become a Vocational Tutor: Empowering Lives at PHX Training in Blackpool
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Blackpool team. We are looking to recruit a highly skilled Vocational Tutor who has a real passion for teaching and expanding our learners knowledge. Learning offers many different benefits to our learners, enhancing their skills, abilities and progression in their career prospects. Within our Blackpool Centre, we offer a number of courses to the local community including; Hospitality, Customer Service, Mental Health First Aid plus many more.
You must be able to offer and teach a number of courses relevant to your own personal competencies. Our service works with adult learners of all abilities, with skills ranging from beginner to intermediate. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach learners with a range of learning styles and diverse needs, creating an interesting and engaging classroom that supports not only the growth of our service but the growth of our learners.
What You'll Do
- Inspire Learning: Deliver dynamic, face-to-face lessons that keep learners engaged and motivated. You’ll create a comfortable, encouraging environment where everyone feels they can thrive.
- Create & Innovate: Develop and update learning materials and lesson plans to meet the unique needs of your learners.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Assess and mark learners' work with a keen eye for quality, ensuring they get the feedback they need to improve.
- Work Together: Collaborate with your team in Carlisle and other departments to ensure consistent, high-quality support for all learners.
- Guide Career Paths: Actively advise learners on other courses that can help them expand their skills and boost their career prospects.
- Engage with local stakeholders to offer opportunities to our learners, by working alongside other companies in Carlisle, we can identify the specific skills and knowledge needed in the local job market, as well as enhancing learner opportunities, this can open doors to work placements, apprenticeships and job interviews for our learners.
Who We're Looking For:
We are looking for a candidate who will have experience in tutoring/teaching, who is highly motivated and wants to support our learners in their own personal growth, confident, passionate and are able to communicate at all levels.
- Exceptional People Skills: The ability to connect with people, listen actively, and communicate with empathy and clarity.
- Adaptability & Resilience: The capacity to understand diverse needs and adjust your approach to help learners navigate challenging situations.
- Strong Organizational Skills: The ability to manage your caseload, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant Experience (Desirable): Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or a similar client-facing role is a plus.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will hold a teaching qualification in adult learning, E.g., PTTLS/Award in Education), Assessors Award, or willing to work towards. With evidence of relevant qualifications and/or experience in the subject topic that will be taught within PHX Training.
