Little Acorns Day Nursery is a warm, nurturing and ambitious nursery in Catford, caring for up to 32 children per day. We are looking for an exceptional Deputy Nursery Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the future of our nursery.
This is not just another Deputy Manager role.
We are looking for someone who loves leading teams, supporting practitioners to be their best, building strong relationships with families, and creating an environment where children thrive. You'll work closely with the owners and leadership team, playing a key role in driving quality, supporting staff development, and ensuring outstanding care and education for every child.For the right person, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership, develop your leadership skills and potentially progress further within the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery Acting as the nursery lead in the absence of the Nursery Manager
Coaching, motivating and developing a dedicated team Supporting safeguarding, compliance and Ofsted readiness
Ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and care across the nursery Building positive relationships with families and external professionals
Working closely with the owners to drive continuous improvement Helping create a positive, supportive and enjoyable place to work.
What We're Looking For
✔ Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum)
✔ Previous experience in a senior nursery role such as Deputy Manager, Third in Charge, Room Leader or similar
✔ Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and early years best practice
✔ Confidence leading teams and supporting staff performance
✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔ Someone who is proactive, positive and solutions-focused
✔ A genuine passion for delivering exceptional outcomes for children
Extra points if you have: Previous Deputy Manager experience Experience supporting an Ofsted inspection
DSL training
Paediatric First Aid qualification
