As a member of the Education Extended Leadership Team, and in consultation with the Strategic Education Manager (Secondary and Inclusion) , you will ensure the Council’s Vision, Values and Priorities are delivered through the strategic leadership and development of aspects of Accessibility, Learning and Inclusion Services, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency to deliver national and local improvement priorities. · Placing the human rights and needs of every child and young person at the centre of education · Improving children and young people’s health and wellbeing · Closing the attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged children and young people · Improving skills and sustained, positive school-leaver destinations for all young people · Improving attainment and achievement, particularly in literacy and numeracy. In the above context, the Quality Improvement Education Officer (QIEO) has leadership responsibility for team members within the service.
You will have proven teaching experience, leadership and management experience and expertise at senior management level in an education establishment. You will have significant professional competence and expertise within ASN and experience of developing and delivering professional learning with reference to National Frameworks, including Realising the Ambition. Experience of performance improvement monitoring and analysing performance information, including the use of attainment and performance data to improve standards is essential. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
