Traffic Planner – Newtownabbey

We help customers develop and maintain an efficient, best cost solution to serve supply chain for products that are transported in bulk tankers.
The successful candidate will liaise directly between Customers and the Traffic and Sales departments to ensure that enquiries and bookings are managed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Liaising with drivers within a busy environment
- Ensure routes run on time
- Report any issues to the Planner / Management
- Dealing with drivers’ hours
- Respond promptly to Customers enquiries
- Prioritise workload and assist routing and planning of vehicles to ensure all deliveries/collections meet customers' expectations.
The Person:
- This role is ideally suited to an individual who has previous experience within a traffic department
- Essentially like any traffic-role the overall objective is to ensure that the customer receives a first-class service in a cost-effective way.
- Experience in UK, Irish & European work would be advantageous
- Disciplined and methodical approach and able to keep up with changing priorities.
- Demonstrate a keen eye for detail whilst working under pressure.
- A demonstrable understanding of transport-related issues including drivers' hour’s regulations is essential.
- Sound knowledge of the commercial aspects of operating a fleet.
- Computer literate
