The Role
As a Roadside Technician, you will attend vehicle breakdowns at homes, roadsides, and other locations, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to get customers moving again quickly and safely.
You’ll be equipped with a fully stocked service vehicle, modern diagnostic tools, and full support from our workshop network.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergencies
- Diagnose faults across a wide range of vehicles
- Carry out effective roadside repairs (targeting first-time fix)
- Recover vehicles when repair is not possible (local recoveries)
- Deliver excellent customer service and reassurance
- Prioritise customer safety at all times
- Support workshop repairs when required
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Roadside Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on a variety of vehicles (cars and light commercial vehicles)
- Full UK driving licence (Category B)
- Ability to work independently in a roadside environment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
Desirable:
- Previous roadside assistance or recovery experience
- Experience using diagnostic equipment

Working Pattern
- 4 days on / 2 days off
- Rotating shifts: 08:00 – 19:00 and 15:00 – 02:00
(other shifts are available for different technician roles, depending on suitability)
