Business Development Director (Protection & Compliance)
Location: London, Essex & Kent (Field-based)
Salary: £60,000 – £68,000 basic | OTE: £70,000 – £80,000

The Opportunity
We’re working with a highly respected intermediary services business that supports directly authorised mortgage brokers and IFAs through a market-leading mortgage, protection and compliance proposition.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Business Development Director to cover London, Essex and Kent. This is a relationship-led, compliance-focused role, managing existing accounts while driving new business across the region.
You’ll be responsible for promoting a compelling adviser proposition into directly authorised firms, working closely with mortgage brokers and IFAs to help them grow their businesses while remaining fully compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing adviser firms, ensuring high levels of engagement and retention
- Identify and onboard new directly authorised mortgage and IFA firms across your territory
- Clearly articulate the full proposition, including mortgage services, compliance support and wider adviser benefits
- Act as a trusted partner to clients, understanding their business needs and delivering tailored solutions
- Drive account growth through increased product penetration and adviser engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within client firms
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing support
- Operate in a highly compliant manner, embedding regulatory best practice in all client interactions
- Consistently meet and exceed growth and revenue targets
About You
- Previous experience as a Mortgage Broker or Financial Adviser
- Business Development experience is advantageous but not essential
- Proven understanding of the UK intermediary market
- Highly self-motivated, driven and commercially minded
- Strong relationship builder with a customer-first mindset
- Confident presenting to business owners and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable discussing compliance-led propositions with directly authorised firms Organised, professional and able to manage a large territory effectively
