1:1 Support & Behaviour Mentor
Location: Wandsworth
Pay: £95 - £110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Fixed-term with potential for permanent placement
The Supply Room is seeking a committed and resilient 1:1 Support & Behaviour Mentor to join one of our secondary schools in Wandsworth.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a Year 7 pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them to engage positively in school life, regulate behaviour, and access learning effectively.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in childcare, youth work, sports coaching, or graduates in psychology or related fields. It is also a strong fit for semi-professional or former professional football players looking to transfer leadership, discipline, and motivational skills into education.
You will act as a consistent role model, building trust with a young person presenting with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs, supporting emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and positive decision-making. Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff, you will help create a structured and supportive environment that enables progress both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil
- Support behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Assist engagement in learning and classroom activities
- Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Work with staff to support pupil progress and development
- Promote confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
Person Specification:
- Experience in childcare, youth work, or sports coaching (desirable)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Full-time availability (Monday–Friday)
- Passion for supporting young people in education
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Resilient and calm under pressure
