Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Cleaning Assistant to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in our Nursing Home. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, previous experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in commercial settings
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and communal areas according to health and safety standards
- Empty bins, replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels, and ensure waste is disposed of appropriately
- Use cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively, adhering to company guidelines
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning tasks to the supervisor
- Follow established health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a secure working environment
- Assist with specialised cleaning tasks as required, including carpet cleaning or window washing
Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and thoroughly
- Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable with a positive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards
- Physical stamina to perform manual cleaning duties throughout the shift
- Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous
