Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional bar person to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional guest service and possess a good understanding of restaurant/bar operations. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred, along with a strong knowledge of food safety and service standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience through attentive service, efficient order management, and upselling of menu items.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, courteous service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Serve drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Manage guest payments accurately, including handling cash and card transactions
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of bar area,including tables, stations, and dining spaces
- Collaborate with bar manager
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, offering recommendations, and ensuring overall satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour suitable for guest interaction
- Basic maths skills for handling bills, payments, and tips accurately
- Ability to work well under pressure during busy periods while maintaining professionalism
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills such as culinary techniques or upselling strategies
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
