Server – Olivetta, Winchester

Olivetta, a warm and welcoming Italian restaurant located in the heart of Winchester, right next to the train station, is seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic hospitality team.
We pride ourselves on creating memorable dining experiences inspired by authentic Italian flavours, served with genuine hospitality.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellent guest service, a love for Italian cuisine, and the drive to contribute to a vibrant and close-knit team. This is a paid position offering a fantastic opportunity to grow within a busy, high-quality restaurant environment.
- Our opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday from 17:00 onwards
-It is essential and a must that the candidate can work weekends.
Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests and take their orders accurately and efficiently
- Serve food and beverages in line with Olivetta’s service standards and health & safety regulations
- Ensure tables are clean, tidy, and perfectly set for new guests
- Confidently upsell menu items and specials to enhance the guest experience and maximise sales
- Handle guest enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our menu, including ingredients, allergens, and special offers
- Process payments accurately using the POS system
- Support colleagues and maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the service area
- Assist with light food preparation when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills is advantageous
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Friendly, confident, and professional communication with guests and colleagues
- Ability to perform well under pressure during busy service periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Experience with upselling and guest engagement is desirable
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong team spirit are essential
- Weekend availability is a must
