SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEN Provision

Start Date: After May Half Term
Temporary Role
A welcoming primary SEN provision in Wythenshawe is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after May half term on a temporary basis.
The role will involve supporting pupils across EYFS and KS1, primarily students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), including non-verbal pupils with additional communication and sensory needs.
The Role:
- Supporting children with autism within a specialist SEN setting
- Working with non-verbal pupils using communication strategies such as PECS, visuals, and sensory approaches
- Assisting pupils working at EYFS and KS1 levels
- Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional development
- Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide tailored support
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a school setting is essential
- Experience supporting SEN pupils, particularly autism, is highly desirable
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
