We are a Shrewsbury-based manufacturer of frozen food and we need reliable, friendly workers on a seasonal temporary and permanent basis to help us in our manufactory. Three month initial contract available with a permenant contract after for the right candidates. Initially you will be helping us on the packing line of our dumpling unit, and / or on the meat processing line, as well as with the food preparation and factory cleaning. If you like working with us we'll train you for a permanent role as a machine operator. We are all a small factory, so you’ll need to be happy to learn several different positions (e.g. dough mixer and roller, filling mixer, meat slicer) and cover them as needed.
Dumpling line:
- Weighing the dumplings into bags, checking product quality, sealing bags, packing the bags into boxes and transferring the boxes into the chiller.
- Helping with recipe preparation: chopping and weighing ingredients as needed
- Labelling boxes and preparing packaging for different products
- Cleaning: helping with daily cleaning of production areas and equipment
Meat Processing line
- Unpacking fresh meat, trimming and rolling
- Preparation of meat logs for freezing
- Labelling and checking stock
- Retrieval of correct stock from deep freezers
- Helping with general cleaning of the factory at the end of production
Skills and experience
- Reliable and hard working
- Manual dexterity, physically fit, and can tolerate working in a chilled environment
- Ability to work as part of a team. People have to work together to ensure that the line runs smoothly and help out if another position on the line is running slowly
- A good awareness of health and safety
- Experience of meat processing industry is beneficial for meat processing line.
