We are seeking a highly skilled Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing dual fuel smart meters across various locations. Duties
- Install, commission, and test dual fuel smart meters in residential and commercial premises
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of smart metering equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate tools and techniques
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repair processes
- Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Document all work carried out accurately in accordance with company procedures
- Liaise with clients and colleagues to coordinate installation schedules and resolve technical issues promptly
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during site visits and installations
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical systems, ideally within the energy or utilities sector
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to meter installation and maintenance
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc., as well as power tools including drills and saws
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation instructions
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting faults
- Valid UK driving licence is essential for travel between sites
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical or mechanical engineering are desirable but not mandatory for experienced candidates
