About the Role
You will support learners from KS1 to KS4 who may have:
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
- Autism / ADHD
- Anxiety or emotionally based school avoidance (EBSNA)
- SEND needs
- Gaps in education or disrupted learning experiences
Your role will involve delivering engaging and personalised sessions tailored to each learner’s needs. Subjects may include:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Primary curriculum support
Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis in:
- Students’ homes
- Community settings
- Schools or local provisions
- Occasionally online
You will adapt learning to support each student’s academic progress while helping them:
- Re-engage with education
- Build confidence and independence
- Improve emotional wellbeing and engagement
- Achieve positive educational outcomes
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking tutors who are:
- Passionate about inclusive education
- Skilled at building positive relationships with children and young people
- Confident adapting lessons to individual learning needs
- Patient, resilient, and creative in their teaching approach
Essential Requirements
- QTS or strong proven teaching/tutoring experience
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN/additional needs
- Experience delivering KS1–KS4 curriculum content
- Strong differentiation and behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and motivate learners who may have become disengaged from education
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel across Chelmsford and surrounding areas
