What's the job?
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality plant production, while supporting and developing a team to achieve strong results across the nursery.
This is a hands-on role that combines technical growing with people leadership and operational support.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Supporting crop production to ensure plants are grown to the highest quality
- Managing key growing activities, including potting, spacing and crop care
- Overseeing pest and disease programmes and input applications
- Working closely with stock and sales teams to align production with demand
- Supporting training, mentoring and development of the growing team
- Assisting with planning, labour coordination and daily operations
- Driving continuous improvement across quality, efficiency and processes
You'll be part of a wider production team, with the opportunity to contribute ideas, improve systems, and influence how the nursery operates.
What do I need?
- Experience working in a commercial nursery or growing environment
- Strong practical growing knowledge (protected crops)
- Experience supporting or leading teams, or ready to step up
- Good attention to detail and a focus on quality
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial environment
- PA1 and PA6 would be ideal, but not essential
You don't need experience with the exact crops, if you've got solid growing knowledge and the right attitude, they'll support you.
