Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to 16-18 Year olds in Semi-independent care settings. You’ll be working closely with young people who are leaving care, providing day-to-day practical and emotional support to help them build independent living skills, self-confidence, and resilience.
Duties
- Support our young people with daily routines, goal setting, and life skills (e.g. budgeting, cooking, appointments, family contact etc).
- Help and nurture our young person to develop important life skills to become more independent.
- Promoting a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
- Ensuring safeguarding and welfare needs are met at all times and recorded.
- Working collaboratively with local authorities and regulating bodies.
- Keeping accurate records and completing reports in line with OFSTED regulations.
- Working shifts (including weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins when required).
- Supporting young people with daily living activities such as meal preparation, life planning and activities.
- Assist with transport as needed, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Engage in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document changes in conditions and report any concerns to the appropriately.
- Implement behaviour management strategie as required working with their social worker and their care plan.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks as required.
Skills
- Experience in children’s residentital, 16-18 semi-independent living or a minimum of 1 year experience working in a care environment, such as residential care, or community support.
- Working towards or willing to work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or related qualification (essential).
- A clean driving licence with use of a car (essential).
- Enhanced DBS check will be required (can be arranged through us).
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
- Reliable, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts and homes if required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
