Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining the organisation of our store. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, along with strong communication skills in English and Spanish. Previous experience in merchandising and organisational skills are advantageous. Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and assist them in selecting products related to gardening and horticulture
- Provide expert advice on plant care, gardening tools, and related products
- Maintain the organisation and visual presentation of merchandise on the shop floor
- Restock shelves and ensure stock levels are adequate throughout the day
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Answer customer queries both in person and via telephone or email
- Support promotional activities and merchandising displays to attract customer attention
- Keep the store clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times
- Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and deliveries
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish is preferred
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is desirable
- Knowledge of gardening, horticulture, or related fields is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- Multilingual abilities are considered a plus
- Enthusiasm for gardening products and a genuine interest in helping customers find suitable solutions
- Flexibility to work during store hours, including weekends if necessary
