Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Self Employed Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction. This role offers flexibility and independence, suitable for those with previous driving experience and a strong work ethic. The position requires a professional approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage deliveries within specified timeframes.
Duties
- Safely operate a variety of delivery vehicles, including vans and lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, with care and attention to safety protocols
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all health and safety guidelines during deliveries and while handling goods
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments
- Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle operated, such as a Category <PERSON> licence or equivalent
- Experience in commercial driving with knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards
- Prior experience in warehouse work or heavy lifting is advantageous
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to handle physical tasks involving heavy lifting and manoeuvring goods safely
