We take pride in offering a learning environment and organisational culture that contribute positively to the health, wellbeing and sustainability of our community and enable all our students and staff to achieve their full potential.
The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused MIS Compliance Officer to join our Management Information Services Team.
This role is responsible for supporting compliance activities across the College's core funding streams, with a particular focus on apprenticeship funding, compliance and audit assurance. Working closely with Senior ILR Officers and colleagues across the College, you will help ensure learner records, funding evidence and compliance documentation meet regulatory requirements and support accurate funding claims.
The successful candidate will undertake compliance reviews throughout the learner lifecycle, from apprenticeship onboarding and on-programme activity through to completion and achievement. You will identify areas of risk, support internal and external audits, monitor funding compliance and contribute to continuous improvement activities that strengthen the College’s data quality, funding assurance and audit readiness for apprenticeships and other funding streams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, investigating issues, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and making a positive contribution to learner success and organisational compliance.
What Will You Bring to the Role (based on personality success criteria)
● Collaborating: You work effectively with colleagues across curriculum, apprenticeships and support services, building positive relationships to achieve shared outcomes.
● Problem Solving – Critical and Strategic Thinking: You can identify risks, investigate anomalies and develop practical solutions to ensure compliance requirements are met and potential issues are resolved quickly.
● Focused, Attentive and Effective Decision Making: You have a strong eye for detail and can maintain accuracy when reviewing learner records, funding evidence, data and compliance documentation.
● Persistence – Determination - Delivering: You are persistent and determined in achieving objectives, ensuring compliance reviews, audit actions and funding checks are completed accurately and on time.

How we recruit
We aim to recruit based on potential, not experience. We are interested in seeing your behaviours in action and how they will help you become successful at City College Plymouth, giving everyone the opportunity to show their potential, regardless of background or experience.
After completing our online application form, you will be asked to complete an online assessment within a few days of this Vacancy closing. This assessment asks you no questions at all. Instead, it observes your behaviour and natural strengths in action, with a series of engaging, intuitive tasks. You will receive a report outlining your behaviours once you have completed the assessment, regardless of whether you progress to the next stage or not, providing you with some feedback.
The College welcomes applications from service leavers and the Armed Forces community, and supports those service leavers who are Reservists in any of the Armed Forces.
The College reserves the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications have been received.
