We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Capital Accountant to join our client on an urgent 4-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong NHS capital accounting experience to support the Trust's capital programme and fixed asset management activities.
- Support the operational management and performance monitoring of the Trust's capital programme.
- Maintain the Trust's Fixed Asset Register (CAR), ensuring acquisitions, enhancements, depreciation, revaluations, impairments and disposals are accurately recorded.
- Coordinate the annual fixed asset valuation exercise with the District Valuer (DV).
- Review valuation reports, identify discrepancies and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Provide specialist capital accounting advice and support to non-financial managers and project teams.
- Work closely with project managers on capital planning and expenditure monitoring.
- Assist in the preparation of the Trust's annual capital plan.
- Produce monthly capital reporting in relation to CDEL control totals.
- Ensure compliance with NHS capital accounting guidance and financial regulations.
- Previous NHS finance experience.
- Strong capital accounting and fixed asset management experience.
- Experience maintaining and reconciling Fixed Asset Registers.
- Knowledge of depreciation, impairments, revaluations and disposals.
- Experience supporting capital programmes and capital expenditure reporting.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
