We are recruiting for a Plumbing Sales & Trade Counter Assistant to join a busy and growing plumbing merchant based in Wakefield.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. We are looking for someone with plumbing or merchant industry experience who is confident dealing with customers, enjoys sales, and is not afraid to get involved in business development to help grow the branch.
The successful candidate will support across the trade counter, warehouse, stock management, and customer sales while becoming a key member of the team.
Key Responsibilities- Serving customers on the trade counter
- Building strong relationships with existing and new customers
- Proactively generating new business opportunities
- Providing quotations and product advice
- Assisting with stock control and goods in/out
- Supporting with warehouse duties when required
- Helping maintain an organised and efficient branch operation
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within plumbing merchants, heating merchants, or the plumbing industry is essential
- Strong customer service and sales ability
- Comfortable with business development and building accounts
- Hands-on attitude and willing to support across the branch
- Good product knowledge within plumbing/heating supplies
- Reliable, hardworking, and eager to be part of a growing team
- Someone available to start ASAP
