Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our team in Great Britain. The role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required by N+P Group. This role ensures products are acquired at the best possible price, quality, and delivery terms while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting business objectives across all areas of the organsation.
The Buyer will support the Group Procurement Strategy at regional and site level, driving cost optimisation, increasing spend under management, and improving supplier performance across N+P Group.
The role supports operational sites through hands-on sourcing, tendering and negotiation while ensuring procurement governance, transparency and data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
- Primarily source and procure goods, materials, and services in line with N+P business requirements and standards
- Support sites with and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Partner operations sites to proactively manage stock levels and demand to ensure availability and avoid shortages.
- Manage assigned spend categories across OPEX, consumables, services and selected CapEx
- Lead sourcing activities including RFx, negotiations, supplier evaluation and contract award
- Support Group wide projects to implement supplier consolidation and regional tendering initiatives
- In coordination with site stock keepers, review inventory practices, establish minimum and critical stock levels, rationalise ordering, and identify obsolete or excess inventory.
- Act as procurement partner to operational site teams with site presence and proactive stakeholder engagement to ensure early procurement involvement to maximise value and compliance
- Support sourcing decisions while respecting operational requirements and timelines whilst negotiating pricing structures, indexation, SLAs and commercial terms
- Improve contract compliance and reduce off-contract spend
- Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing commercial relationships
- Use data and analytics to support sourcing decisions and performance management
- Ensure sourcing activity complies with procurement policy and approval thresholds
- Track and report savings, spend under management and procurement KPIs
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; CIPS / NEVI desirable
- 4–8 years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles
- Background in waste, recycling, utilities, logistics, manufacturing or asset-intensive industries preferred
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings
- Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Confident working in multi-site and decentralised environments
- Strong analytical capability with interest in digital and data-driven procurement
- Ability to interpret procurement data and create clear, decision-focused insights
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot or GenAI tools to support reporting, analysis or tender preparation is desirable

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
