We are currently recruiting for an experienced grill chef at The Barak. Someone who already knows how to cook a great steak.
The ideal candidate will be well-presented, motivated and be able to work as part of a small team as well as independently.
Candidates need to have excellent knowledge of food hygiene and allergen regulations.
Previous experience of working in a busy restaurant kitchen environment is essential.
Candidates should be able to provide two references. The position will involve working evenings and weekends as well as other shifts.

Duties
- Prepare and cook grilled dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist with other kitchen duties such as prep work, plating, and assisting front-of-house staff when needed
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers in accordance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a chef within a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, especially grilling methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Previous experience in meal preparation, kitchen organisation, and maintaining cleanliness standards is preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with excellent organisational skills is advantageous
- Serving experience is beneficial but not essential; however, understanding customer service principles is valued
