CNC Machinist – Precision Turning Specialist

We're a specialist manufacturer of super abrasives tools, and we're growing. This isn't a role that came up because someone left - it's here because we're winning new business and launching new products. We need a skilled CNC Machinist to help us keep up with demand and maintain the quality our customers rely on.
You'll be working primarily in a turning environment, producing one-off and small-batch precision components to tight tolerances. If you take pride in getting it right first time and enjoy the challenge of complex, close-tolerance work, you'll fit in well here.

Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning machines (Haas, FANUC or Siemens controls) to produce precision components from engineering drawings
- Carry out your own in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators and depth gauges
- Take ownership of your work from setup through to sign-off
- Uphold health, safety and housekeeping standards throughout the shift
- Take part in daily team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement
- Support colleagues and work collaboratively across departments
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on CNC machining experience, ideally in turning (Strong milling background considered if you're keen to move into turning)
- Confident operating either Haas, FANUC or Siemens control systems
- Able to read and work from engineering drawings, including GD&T
- Competent with workholding and tooling setup for turned components
- GCSE Maths grade C / 4–5 or above
- Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel)
