Are you an experienced Café or Restaurant Manager with a passion for hospitality, operational excellence, and delivering outstanding customer experiences?
Cafe Fresco, located within Rejects Department Store, is looking for a strong hands-on manager to lead both front and back of house operations within our busy café-restaurant.

With daytime-only trading hours and no late nights, this role also offers a significantly better work-life balance than many traditional hospitality management roles.
About the Role
As Cafe Restaurant Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of the café-restaurant.
You will oversee both front of house and kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, food quality, cleanliness, team performance, and operational efficiency are consistently delivered.
This is a hands-on management role requiring strong leadership, organisation, commercial awareness, and the ability to drive performance across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all front of house and kitchen operations
- Lead, support, and develop the café team across all departments
- Manage rotas, staffing levels, and labour costs effectively
- Monitor and control food costs, wastage, stock levels, and operational spend
- Review and manage P&L performance, GP margins, and KPIs
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, and operational efficiency
- Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, customer service, and presentation
- Maintain full compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures
- Work closely with the wider store management team to grow café footfall and customer engagement
- Support recruitment, training, performance management, and HR-related processes
- Build strong supplier relationships and oversee ordering processes
- Create a welcoming and positive environment for both customers and staff
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in café or restaurant management
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing both front and back of house operations
- Good commercial awareness with experience managing costs and performance
- Understanding of KPIs, labour control, and operational reporting
- Experience within fast-paced hospitality environments
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Passion for customer service and team development
- Positive, proactive, and hands-on management style
