Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a genuine passion for dementia care.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the specific needs of each resident.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on care and progress.
- Supervise care staff members and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and contribute to regular assessments of resident needs.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and communication within the care home.
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes dignity and respect for all residents.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dementia care or similar role is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a supportive atmosphere for both staff and residents.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs is essential.
- Strong communication skills are crucial for interacting with residents, families, and colleagues effectively.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for this role to facilitate transportation duties within the community.

You would be expected to provide physical and emotional support to service users within a residential dementia setting in relation to all daily living tasks. You will have skills in personal care, pressure care, communication, record keeping and administering medication.
Experience working within a residential dementia care setting as a carer or above for 1 year plus. Relevant qualifications in Health & Social Care preferable to the role. To have an understanding of legislation and CQC compliance is required.
