About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant / HGV Fitter / Mechanic to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a mixed fleet of HGVs, concrete pump vehicles and heavy plant equipment to ensure maximum reliability, safety and uptime.
This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, self-motivated individual with strong fault-finding and mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs and plant equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Conduct inspections, safety checks and preventative maintenance
- Prepare vehicles and plant for MOT, LOLER and PUWER inspections
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation
- Attend breakdowns when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent preferred)
- HGV licence desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
