We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient food production and service.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene practices throughout all kitchen activities.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
- Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and restaurant procedures.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to health regulations.
- Foster a positive team environment by promoting collaboration and effective communication among kitchen staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality environment, with a focus on food production.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
- Excellent culinary skills with creativity in menu planning and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
