Are you an expert in further education data, insight and funding intelligence, with the skills to turn complex information into meaningful business intelligence to inform strategic decision-making? As our Business Insight, Funding and Data Manager, you'll play a central role in shaping how information is used to drive performance, support service planning and maximise the impact of externally funded programmes.
This is a varied and influential role where you'll lead the development of business intelligence, data tools, reporting and funding processes, working closely with senior leaders, partners and funding bodies. As the Business Insight, Funding and Data Manager, you'll have the opportunity to drive innovation, improve systems and shape the future direction of data and performance management.

The Opportunity
In the role of Business Insight, Funding and Data Manager , here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- To take a strategic lead on the co-ordination and management of data, business analysis and insights, business reporting and funding monitoring relating to all externally funded contracts that sit inside the Employment, Skills and Adult Education Service
- Oversee funding monitoring, compliance and performance reporting, ensuring contractual and regulatory requirements are met.
- Develop and improve data systems, dashboards and reporting tools, providing clear and meaningful insights for senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Analyse complex performance and funding information, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support service planning and continuous improvement.
- Manage and support a small team responsible for data collection, validation and analysis, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Build effective relationships with funding organisations, partner agencies and internal teams to support reporting, audits and performance management.
- Lead projects to improve data processes and systems, driving innovation and more efficient ways of working.
- Prepare and present reports, intelligence and performance information to a range of audiences, including senior managers and external partners.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
- Experience of developing and producing management information, performance reporting and business intelligence.
- Experience of using data analysis and reporting tools, including Power BI, management information systems and databases.
- Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team.
- Experience of managing funding compliance, performance monitoring or reporting within a further education setting.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify risks and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy.
