About the Role
Dame Care Solutions is seeking an experienced and reliable Italian-speaking female Care Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one weekend support to an elderly lady living near the Camden / Westminster border.
This role is suited to a professional carer who values structure, consistency, and high standards of care. The client has complex care needs and requires someone with a solid healthcare background and a calm, confident approach.
This is a weekend position for 3 hours on Saturdays (10:00am–1:00pm). Sundays may be required on a flexible or alternate basis.
Duties Include
- Personal care and hygiene support
- Mobility assistance and safe moving and handling
- Light tidying of the client's immediate environment
- Basic ironing
- Providing calm, reassuring companionship
There is no food preparation on most days, though it may occasionally be requested. No heavy cleaning is required.
About the Client
The client is an elderly lady living with dementia who has also experienced a brain haemorrhage. As a result, she has specific mobility constraints that require careful, confident, and experienced handling. She also has a stoma. While prior stoma experience is not essential, you must be comfortable supporting this aspect of care. Full guidance will be provided.
Patience, emotional maturity, and a calm, reassuring presence are essential qualities for this role.
Essential Requirements
- Fluent Italian (spoken)
- Demonstrable professional healthcare experience — this is non-negotiable
- Proven experience supporting elderly clients
- Experience in stroke care or supporting clients following a brain haemorrhage
- Confident and competent in mobility support and moving and handling
- Experience in dementia care
- Comfortable supporting a client with disability-related needs
- Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
- Comfortable supporting stoma care (training on client-specific routines provided if needed)
Desirable Experience
- Supporting clients with post-stroke or brain haemorrhage related conditions
- Managing complex mobility needs with confidence and safety awareness
- Experience in disability support
- Managing behaviours associated with dementia with patience and professionalism
- Strong understanding of person-centred care
