RSD Recruitment is proud to be partnering with one of the UK’s leading independent builders merchants to recruit a customer-focused and proactive individual for a busy, front-of-house Yard Security role.
This is not a security or guarding position. Instead, it’s a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll help manage the flow of traffic throughout the depot, support customers collecting materials, and work closely with the yard and forklift team to keep operations running smoothly.
This role would suit someone who enjoys speaking with customers, staying active throughout the day, and working in a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
As a Yard Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers and drivers arriving at the depot. You’ll manage vehicle flow within the yard, confirm customer collections, communicate with forklift drivers to organise orders, and check paperwork and invoices as vehicles leave site.
You’ll play an important role in ensuring the depot operates safely, efficiently, and delivers a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and delivery drivers arriving on site
- Direct and manage traffic flow around the depot safely and efficiently
- Check what materials customers are collecting or purchasing
- Communicate with forklift drivers and yard staff to coordinate orders
- Verify invoices and paperwork before vehicles leave the depot
- Support general yard organisation and site safety standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, approachable, and confident dealing with customers face-to-face
- Comfortable working outdoors and being on your feet throughout the day
- Good attention to detail when checking orders and invoice
