Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, and help ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised, and efficient.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a busy Indo-Arabic restaurant environment.
Duties
- Assist chefs with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory management.
- Support the team during busy service periods.
Skills
- Previous experience in Indian catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential
- Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of South Indian, particularly Kerala-style, cuisine would be advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
