Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with health regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of ingredients and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Lead menu development initiatives, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
- Extensive kitchen experience with a thorough understanding of culinary practices.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate staff.
- Previous experience in restaurant settings or hospitality industry preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of service.
