Job Summary
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our small teamat The Leddie in Aberlady, East Lothian. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness and organisation while assisting with food preparation. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients for cooking.
- Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
- Help with the organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and cleaning supplies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Assist in maintaining equipment cleanliness and report any maintenance issues to senior staff.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- A passion for food preparation and cooking, with an eagerness to learn from experienced chefs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
