Main Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across the company’s consultancy, professional training and conference management services.
The successful candidate will focus exclusively on commercial growth by securing new consultancy contracts, developing strategic partnerships, increasing corporate training opportunities, expanding Project Management Bootcamp enrolments and building long-term client relationships.
This role has been created to enable the directors to focus on operational delivery, project management and strategic leadership while the Business Development Manager leads commercial expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Commercial Growth
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s commercial growth objectives.
- Identify and secure new consultancy contracts and commercial opportunities.
- Build relationships with businesses, corporate organisations, charities, educational institutions and public sector organisations.
- Generate qualified business opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic partnerships and targeted outreach.
- Prepare commercial proposals, presentations and quotations.
- Negotiate consultancy agreements and commercial contracts.
- Develop strategic partnerships that generate recurring business opportunities.
- Promote the company’s Project Management Bootcamp and professional training programmes to prospective corporate clients.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue from existing client relationships.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using CRM systems.
- Produce monthly business development reports and pipeline updates for the directors.
- Achieve agreed business development, client acquisition and revenue growth targets.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum three years’ demonstrable experience in business development, commercial partnerships or B2B sales.
- Proven track record of securing consultancy, professional services or commercial contracts.
- Experience developing long-term strategic partnerships.
- Excellent networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within project management consultancy or professional services.
- Experience securing corporate or public sector contracts.
- Experience promoting professional training or consultancy services.
- Experience working within a growing SME.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho CRM.

Pay: £42,000.00-£56,500.00 per year
