Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Bournemouth from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and helping them to access learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.
You will work closely with the SEN department and teaching staff to support students with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, ASD, and SEMH, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
- Support students in accessing the curriculum
- Assist with personalised learning plans and interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO
- Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for supporting students with additional needs
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
